When God Arrives

about.

When God Arrives is a multisensory immersive VR experience inspired by Liu Cixin’s Taking Care of God. Through VR visuals, spatial sound, and wearable haptic feedback system, participants encounter a dying god who returns to humanity seeking understanding and rest, inviting reflection on presence, choice, and the shifting roles between creator and created.

story.

A god arrives not in glory, but in exhaustion.

He comes without commands, carrying only the weight of time.

Across three quiet encounters, we listen, choose, and simply remain.

In the fading light of a dying civilization, the roles slowly reverse—

the creator seeking rest in the presence of the created.

Experience Flow

Participants enter a three-chapter VR narrative where a dying god descends to humanity. The experience unfolds through cinematic sequences, subtle interaction, and moments of stillness: arrival, dialogue, and farewell. Player choices influence the emotional tone of the encounter rather than the plot, emphasizing presence over action.

Multisensory System

Visual storytelling in VR is combined with spatial sound and wearable haptic feedback backpack. Low-frequency vibrations, environmental audio, and voice work together to create a physical sense of the god’s presence, fragility, and fading existence—allowing participants to feel the story beyond what they see.
